Cherry Valley Community Action Website Goes Live (February 27, 2023)

 CVCA launched this website to keep our community informed and connected about efforts to oppose the Event Venue and protect Cherry Valley. 

Plaintiffs File Response (February 2, 2023)

 Attorneys for the community members filed the final response to District Court. A decision on the case is now pending. 

Defendants File Response (January 20, 2023)

 Attorneys for the county and applicant filed responses to the plaintiffs’ opening brief. These documents state why the BOCC decision should stand. 

Plaintiffs File Opening Brief (December 16, 2022)

 Attorneys for the community members filed the Opening Brief in District Court. This 16-page document states the facts of the case and why the plaintiffs should prevail. 

Cherry Valley Community Action LLC is Launched (November 2022)

 Cherry Valley Community Action LLC provides an organization by which community members can come together to address the Event Center USR and future issues. 

Certification of Record Received (10/28/2022)

Douglas County provided the Event Center USR records to the plaintiffs (community members).

Rule 106 Responses Filed (9/27/22 & 9/28/22)

Douglas County and the applicants filed their complaint responses in District Court.

Douglas County Planning Published Applicant Correspondence (9/13/22)

Rule 106 Complaint Filed (9/2/2022)

Community members filed a request to reverse the USR decision under Rule 106 in District Court.

Board of County Commissioners Hearing (8/9/2022)

The BOCC approved the Event Center Use by Special Review (USR) application. The vote was 2-1. Commissioners Teal and Thomas voted yes, Commissioner Laydon voted no.
